UFC superstar Conor McGregor was arrested outside the Fontainebleau Miami Beach hotel in on Monday.
According to a Miami Beach police spokesman, McGregor is being charged with strong-armed robbery and misdemeanor criminal mischief.
It’s claimed that the Irishman smashed the phone of a man at around 5am on Monday morning, after the man had been taking photos of McGregor.
According to the Miami Beach Police Department, the altercation is alleged to have taken place outside the nightclub Liv – housed in the Fontainebleu.
It’s stated that McGregor slapped the phone out of his victim’s hand, before stomping on it and walking away.
He was booked at Miami-Dade jail on Monday night.
McGregor is currently in Florida as he prepares for his UFC comeback, joined by girlfriend Dee Devlin and son, Conor Jr.
The incident comes a matter of days after McGregor completed his probation following his attack on a bus at a UFC event in Brooklyn last year.
The former UFC champion avoided a prison term but had to complete community service at churches in Brooklyn while also attending anger management classes; had McGregor violated his probation, he could have faced time behind bars.
