Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder are a step closer to making their long-awaited fight happen.

And they could face off not once, but twice as part of a bumper £80m deal for Wilder with DAZN.

Joshua is an ambassador for the streaming giant, who are understood to have offered Wilder a three-fight deal on Wednesday.

The first fight of that deal would be a mandatory defence for the WBC champion against Joshua’s former opponent Dominic Breazeale whilst Joshua heads stateside to face Jarrell Miller.

But the deal would also include two fights with Joshua – each earning Wilder around £32.5m – to ensure the two heavyweight kings finally settle their war of words.

Wilder earned around £12.5m when he drew with Tyson Fury in December, but the dramatic nature of that fight has seen his value sky rocket.

Fury’s deal with ESPN saw Wilder left as the only member of the big three not tied to a long-term TV deal.

He met with DAZN boss John Skipper to discuss terms this week and will consider his options with a big money proposal understood to be on the table.

Wilder has been vocal about the fact he won’t negotiate directly with Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn, but a deal with DAZN may be the only way to make the eagerly-anticipated bout finally happen.

ESPN are still trying to tempt him to set up a rematch with Fury by joining their network, whilst Wilder has previously stated he will hear out Showtime, who have broadcast his rise on a fight by fight basis in recent years.

Wilder assured fans a fight with Joshua will happen eventually when rumours of his DAZN talks broke last week.

Joshua has grown frustrated in his attempts to make the Wilder fight happen

"The fight (Joshua) is going to happen," he said. "The fight will happen for sure.

"I don’t want people worrying about whether they’ll see this fight happen or not.

"You will see the Deontay Wilder vs Anthony Joshua show.

"We will be one champion, one face, one name and it might be soon."
